These superb lithographs were issued in Germany by (Theodor) Reichardt Kakao and were given as free premiums with the purchase of cocoa.
 
NOTE: there are three versions of the Tiere der Urwelt Lithograph 'Series 1' set.  All three versions share the same lithographs on the front but have text variances on the front and/or back of the lithograph. Comparison images are provided below.
 
  • Version #1 - Front:  does NOT have "Series 1" included in the bottom-left caption. Back: contains full text which is the same as Version #2.
  • Version #2 - Front:  does have "Series 1" included in the bottom-left caption. Back: contains full text which is the same as Version #1.
  • Version #3 (this set) - Front:  does NOT have "Series 1" included in the bottom-left caption. Back: contains a graphic but there is no text.
