"But before he had a chance to do anything, a large jellyfish slapped across his face, blinding him. The 500cc bucked like an angry house and threw him off, sending him sprawling across the roadway. Above the rush of the sea came Marilyn's voice screaming at him. … Long thin needles probed his cheeks, pushing in behind his eyes, inserting themselves agonizingly into his gums until he moaned and squealed in muffled terror. His lungs were busting, but with that thing across his mouth, closing up his nostrils .. oh, Jesus!"

My Opinion:
Scoop some "Chunky Monkey" ice cream, grab the hot fudge, sit back, and enjoy this read but ignore the book's cover as the image has little resemblance to the creatures in the story. Slime is another one of those "Creature Feature"-type books from John Halkin that numbs your intellect but stimulates the "oooh, yuck" reflex. Unless you have actually been stung by a jellyfish, this is a fun, outlandish read with wonderfully crafted green-tinted imagery. Be advised, this particular author seems compelled to sprinkle his stories with a light dusting of sexual situations. Oh, yea, the book's hilarious cover has little resemblance to the creatures contained therein.
