Exerpt:
"Her mind snapped into insanity but she remained cruelly conscious as they devoured the flesh from her face, under her chin, her breasts, her stomach, buttocks, legs, .. The pain shocked through her body from every part. Then everything became suddenly quiet. Vaguely she realized she'd been the one making all the noise. Now as her blood seeped away, she lost the strength even to scream. … Distantly, she realized at least one worm had finished with her surface meat and was burrowing into her intestines."

My Opinion:
Pop some extra-butter popcorn, grab a box of Ju Ju Bees, sit back, and enjoy this read but ignore the book's cover as the image has little resemblance to the creatures in the story. Slither is one of those "Creature Feature"-type books that numbs your intellect but stimulates the "oooh, yuck" reflex. Unless you suffer from Scoleciphobia (fear of worms), this is a fun read that never takes itself too seriously. Be warned though, this particular author seems compelled to sprinkle his stories with a light dusting of sexual situations. Oh, yea, the book's hilarious cover has little resemblance to the creatures contained therein. NOTE: This book should not be confused with the dark and somewhat sadistic snake horror novel, "Slither: A Thriller", written by David A. Kaufelt (see my review of this book).
