Robert Telleria

The World Museums were full-page dioramas illustrated by Holling Clancy Holling which were featured in the comic sections of some American Sunday newspapers starting on May 9, 1937 through January 30, 1938.  Each page featured parts to be cut out by the reader with detailed instructions how to assemble them into a diorama using wrapping paper (or cardboard) to stiffen the structure. Each new diorama had a paragraph explaining the diorama itself from a historical or geographical point of view. Subject included historical events, natural wonders or international ethnographic scenes. (Source: Wikipedia - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_World_Museum.)

Of interest to this site is the "When Dinosaurs Roamed the Earth"  (Jul 1937) (see images) and the "The Pool of Death" (Nov 1937) dinoramas which seasoned collector Robert Telleria indicates contains a "La Brea Tar Pit" - like diorama featuring a pair of smilodons, a sinking mammoth, and Teratornis (buzzard-like bird).
