A listing posted in October 2023 on a major online auction site indicated that these are prototype cards for a never published game called, ‘Primal Carnage: Biologic' which was intended to be a companion to Lukewarm Media’s ‘Primal Carnage’, an online, multiplayer video shooter game.  According to the auction listing, there were only three groups (‘sets’) of these cards ever produced.  
 
I have credited Lukewarm Media as the issuer of these cards, however, there remains a fair amount of uncertainty as to whether that is correct.  Apparently, in 2013, long-time Primal Carnage developers, including Lukewarm Media co-founder Ashton Andersen, left Lukewarm Media.  The auction listing credits Ashton Andersen as having issued (‘made’) these game cards in 2012, presumably as proof-of-concept/marketing tools.  If Ashton Anderson was still an employee of Lukewarm Media at that time, then the issuer should probably be Lukewarm Media. However, the auction listing did indicate that the folks which left Lukewarm Media retained some ‘personal’ Primal Carnage rights. Perhaps these game cards were part of that.
 
It is interesting to note that this set includes an ‘Indominus Rex’ card.  Anyone who watched Universal Pictures’ 2015 ‘Jurassic World’ film would no doubt recognize it as the name given to the genetically engineered, hybrid monster that terrorized the Jurassic World theme park in the film. Given this card set was created in 2012, it is interesting to ponder the odds of that exact name being randomly derived by two different organizations three years apart.
